Constantinople comes to life: the Byzantium 1200 Project

If you could transport yourself more than 800 years back in time to walk its streets, shop its ethnically diverse market places or gaze at its famous hippodrome and churches, what would you see? Byzantium 1200 is a non-profit project aimed at creating computer reconstructions of the Byzantine monuments located in Istanbul, Turkey as of year 1200 AD. It brings the ruins of Constantinople back to life in a way that’s worth seeing.
